FROM BROOKLYN NAVY YARD. NEW YORK.
A view of Manhattan and Vinegar Hill from Brooklyn Navy Yard in New York Let me tell you an anecdote that happened to my daughter India and me a little before taking the photograph. When I was conceived, my parents lived in Brooklyn, New York. My father spent 2 years working as an engineer at the Brooklyn Navy Yard, contributing to the construction of 2 aircraft carriers. Perhaps due to this, and because I was nearly born there, I've always held New York in high regard as a fetish and an inspiring city. In 2017, my daughter India and I embarked on a photographic journey to New York. As we approached the access control of the Brooklyn Navy Yard, the guard initially denied us entry, as we lacked permits and accreditation. I persisted, and it seemed impossible, yet, inexplicably, at one point, he entered the small booth and emerged with a sticker that granted us access to the entire facility and allowed us to take photographs. While I don't believe much in the afterlife or paranormal situations, that change of heart from the guard appears to have been influenced by my father, wherever he may be. Thank you, Dad. From there, the views of Manhattan are truly unique.
